Yesterday we saw yet another feeble attempt from the right to ridicule newly elected representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. This time, her glaring offense was having the audacity to wear actual clothes instead of tattered sackcloth and grocery bags on her feet.
Eddie Scarry, the right-wing tool who got absolutely ethered on Twitter for criticizing Ocasio-Cortez’s fashion choices, deleted the offending tweet and claimed he didn’t actually mean what everyone knows he meant.
ATTN! I posted a tweet earlier suggesting the incoming congresswoman looked well put together — ELEGANT even — despite suggestions she’s struggled. The tweet was taken as something else, so I’ve deleted it!

Just like yesterday’s tweet, this one earned a devastating ratio with 12k replies to ~3k likes and retweets. Unfortunately Scarry forgot to delete all the other tweets he sent after the first defending his decision to snark about Ocasio-Cortez’s outfit (preserved here for posterity).
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez responded to the controversy with her usual bluntness and grace, calling out the sexism, leaving no quarter for liars, and SOMEHOW managing to stay positive.
She even retweeted a pretty solid Seinfeld joke.
While conservatives continue to awkwardly lash out Ocasio-Cortez for anything and everything, she keeps shutting them down, plowing forward, and going about her job doing the people’s work.
