Morning commutes can be the most stressful part of the day. Crammed on a subway or bus that’s probably running late or facing delays, someone’s elbow in your ribcage, coffee that could potentially spill everywhere.
But if you live in Seattle and take a certain route, you’re likely to travel with Eclipse—the cutest and most independent dog to ever ride the city bus.
Eclipse, who has a bus pass attached to her collar, “the bus downtown to the dog park where she spends a couple of hours getting exercise and making friends, and then she takes the bus back home again,” Robbie Lauren wrote on her Facebook page in a post about Eclipse that has gotten over 290k shares.
This is Eclipse. Every day she leaves her house, by herself, and takes the bus downtown to the dog park where she spends…
“It started when her owner, Jeff Young, was taking too long when the bus arrived so she impatiently ran ahead and got on the bus by herself. The bus driver recognized her and dropped her off at the dog park, and later Jeff caught up with her. After several more trips by herself, Jeff started letting her go on her own, and she always comes back home a couple of hours later.”
“She makes them smile,” Lauren added. “Many of the regular passengers enjoy seeing her every day and will often sit down next to her.”
The police have even approved as long as the bus drivers are okay with Eclipse taking a ride.
Eclipse has her own Facebook page where you can follow her adventures as she rides the bus. Will she get a seat? Make new friends? One thing’s for sure: she certainly makes everyone’s commute way more enjoyable.
