Love ’em or hate ’em, Instagram influencers are here to stay.
But while most of them can be filtered into different categories—fitness folks, foodie fans, meme lords, and so on and so forth— one Austin, Texas dad is in a league all his own.
Omar started the Instagram account @justaconstructionguy, where he began to post beautifully curated photos of his life.
His daughter shared her dad’s account to her Twitter account (@barbzlovescarbs, though it’s set to private at the time of writing) where it was screenshotted and reposted by popular meme Instagram account @middleclassfancy.
When @barbzlovescarbs first shared her dad’s account, Omar only had 75 followers. But as more Twitter and Instagram meme account picked it up, he quickly went viral and currently has nearly 375,000 Instagram followers.
Omar’s curated page seems half satire and half genuine, and includes flat lays of his work uniform (captioned “Daily essentials”)…
Closeup selfies featuring cigars…
Documentation of bike rides…
And, my personal favorite, the #TakeMeWithYou hand-holding shot:
But honestly, coffee seems to take precedence above all else for Omar.
In fact, a sizable portion of the 29 Instagram accounts Omar follows are coffee themed, though he also follows cigar-centric accounts, The Home Depot, and other construction photo accounts.
“The boys were giving me crap cause I’m a model/influencer now,” Omar captioned a photo of himself.
Meanwhile, Omar’s hundreds of thousands of fans heap praise in his comments section. “He is everything I want to be. (Strong, funny, looks great in yellow),” wrote one commenter.
