Father And Daughter In Viral Photo Taken Just Before Notre Dame Caught Fire Have Been Found

On Monday, a fire ravaged the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France. Moments before the flames erupted, however, one photographer captured a beautiful moment between a father and daughter in front of the historic cathedral. After days of trying to find them, Twitter was finally able to identify the pair.

Earlier this week, a photo taken of a father and daughter in front of the Notre Dame Cathedral moments before the devastating fires, inspired an international search.

The now-viral photo was taken by Brooke Windsor who later shared it on Twitter amidst coverage of the Notre Dame tragedy in hopes of finding the dad-daughter duo.

“I took this photo as we were leaving #NotreDame about an hour before it caught on fire. I almost went up to the dad and asked if he wanted it. Now I wish I had. Twitter if you have any magic, help him find this,” Brooke wrote.

The tweet garnered 470,000 likes and more than 200,000 comments.

But it wasn’t until Thursday morning that the pair was finally identified. The father pictured found Brooke’s photo and reached out to her.

He writes, “Thanks again for that beautiful photo, we will find a special place for it.”

Brooke thanked everyone on Twitter who contributed to the search.

And people commended her for putting forth the effort to find the subjects of the photo.
