Everyone makes mistakes, but when you make one this publicly, people aren’t going to let it slide. They’re going to meme you, and they’re going to meme you good. That’s what the internet has been doing since the end of Game 1 of the NBA finals last night.
If you haven’t been following along, here is a quick backstory. The Warriors are playing the Cavaliers for the championship. It’s kind of a David and Goliath situation. The Warriors are by far and away the best team with several high paid stars. The Cavaliers have LeBron James, by far and away the best player, and that’s pretty much it. If the Cavs want to have any chance at winning, LeBron needs a lot of help from his teammates. This is why the massive late-game mistake by J.R. Smith was such a big deal.

Lebron has every right to be upset. He can’t do it all by himself. I mean, it got them to this point, but it’s not going to get it done against the Warriors. Either the Cavs will get it together, or I see more memes in their future.
