Melania Trump Thinks She’s The ‘Most Bullied Person’ In The World But Twitter Begs To Differ

During an interview with ABC News, First Lady Melania Trump revealed that one of the reasons she made social media abuse a part of her “Be Best” campaign is that she feels she’s one of the most bullied people in the world. Yes. You read that correctly.

In the interview, which was filmed during her visit to Kenya last week, she actually said, “I could say I’m the most bullied person on the world. When asked if she really believed that was the truth, Mrs. Trump responded, “One of them, if you really see what people saying about me.”

Okay. Look, it’s probably not easy for Mrs. Trump. She’s a notoriously shy person, and she does get talked about and mocked a lot in general, and especially on social media. But here’s the thing—if she had a little perspective on the matter, she’d realize that while part of the First Lady’s job is to be in the public eye, plenty of people have it far worse than she does. Like, for example, Hillary Clinton. Or Michelle Obama, who was called an “ape” while she was First Lady. Or basically any transgender person in the whole country.

And, of course, there’s the issue of her husband, President Donald Trump, who absolutely is one of the world’s biggest bullies.

Immediately after Mrs. Trump’s interview aired, she received another round of criticism, this time from people on social media. Because seriously, Melania Trump calling herself one of the most bullied people in the world is a little ridiculous.

Some people brought up Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who recently testified that she was sexually assaulted as a teenager by Brett Kavanaugh, who was confirmed to the Supreme Court anyway.

And then there’s Hillary Clinton, who has been the subject of a wee bit of bullying herself. A great deal of it from Mrs. Trump’s husband.

A lot of Twitter users pointed out the real victims of bullying in this country: the people who’ve had their children taken away from them and the people who suffer from Trump’s racist, sexist, homophobic policies.

Michelle Obama put up with a tad bit of bullying herself.

In general, it’s just not a good look for Mrs. Trump to be complaining about being bullied when there are so many people who are so much more vulnerable than she is. And also when she and her husband have done things like go after Barack Obama relentlessly over his birth certificate.
