21 Tweets About Millennial ‘Retirement’ Plans That Are Equal Parts Funny And Bleak

Baby boomers like to refer to millennials as lazy and uninspired, but the truth is that we’ve inherited a world puts us at a disadvantage by default. There aren’t enough jobs and the ones that are out there don’t pay very well; the economy is struggling and the idea of living the life our grandparents or even our parents have—buying a house, living debt-free—is basically laughable.

And don’t even get me started on retirement. By the time the government lets us quit working, there will be so little money in social security, if any, to see us through our older years. It’s a scary thought for sure, which is why millennials on Twitter have started telling some dark jokes about the prospect of retirement so we can all laugh to keep from crying.
