As predicted by everyone who is not a Nazi, the neo-Nazi who rammed his vehicle into a crowd of anti-Nazi protesters and killed activist Heather Heyer has been found guilty of first-degree murder. His sentencing hearing will begin on Monday.
James Fields was found guilty on all criminal counts, including five counts of aggravated malicious wounding, three counts of malicious wounding and one hit and run count in addition to the murder charge. The self-identifying Nazi also faces charges of 30 federal hate crimes, which he’ll be tried for later. Regardless of how that goes, it’s a safe bet that Fields will spend the rest of his life in prison.
The defense argued that Fields became frightened when he somehow managed to get his car into the middle of a couple groups of counter-protesters to the “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville. They claimed he had “feared for his safety” when he rammed an entire group of people with his vehicle.
This argument, obviously, did not hold water. Prosecutors pointed to Fields’ angry social media postings and taped phone calls from jail in which Fields said that Heyer’s death “doesn’t matter” and called her a communist.
As non-Nazis everywhere breathe a sigh of relief and perhaps experience a bit of Schadenfreude, the aforementioned Nazis are not having a good day. They’re also falling all over themselves to make sure everyone on Twitter knows that they’re Nazis who defend murderers.
The alt-right bros made a very big deal out of the James Fields trial and viewed it as a way to remove the cloud of disrepute that hangs over them. Anglin even fantasized about buying Fields a new car after he walked.— Michael Edison Hayden (@MichaelEHayden) December 7, 2018

Nazis sure are mad that a court of law convicted a Nazi of murder. pic.twitter.com/ksViQg5ax8— Cody Johnston (@drmistercody) December 7, 2018

I hope someone actually cares enough about James Fields enough to put their money where their mouth is. That boy never had a chance without a good lawyer to present the facts. #appealtheverdict #JamesFields pic.twitter.com/ixtzCKMlue— iamboundtowin (@iamboundtowin) December 8, 2018
The fact that I fully expected this verdict doesn’t make it any less sickening to me. Shame on the “defense” team. The Hitler-image text message and car meme posts — evidence that should never have been admitted — sealed his fate. #JamesFields #miscarriageofjustice #malpractice— Danielle🦂Savoy🌲 (@DanielleSavoy) December 8, 2018

JAMES FIELDS INNOCENT— Trainwave (@train_wave) December 7, 2018
Nope. James Fields is an innocent man. One day, when order and tradition have been restored to their once exalted status, this verdict will be overturned. Hopefully, this just will be meted out in time for James Fields to have a full life of freedom.— MN Identitarian (@MN_Identitarian) December 7, 2018
Fields' innocence or guilt couldn't be disentangled from the racial and social politics of this day, as James Fields was a despised alien and foreigner to the people of Charlottesville, just as a devout Muslim would be in middle America.— Matt Parrott (@MatthewParrott) December 7, 2018
He was denied peers, and denied justice.
James Fields was found guilty of murder.— Jonathan D. (@Banzombie2) December 7, 2018
>Attacked by Antifa
>Chased by man with rifle, threatening him
>Goes into car
>Drives off in panic
>Crowd of people swarm the streets gets hit
>Woman has heart attack
The illegal thing James did was not wanting his people replaced.
The conviction of James Fields is just one more proof that the US Justice system is controlled by Antifa and is a hoax designed to forward the Global Government agenda of destroying human civilization— Brian Christopher (@BrianCh49351468) December 7, 2018
There is no jury with the right to convict James Fields. There is no judge with the right to oversee such a trial. There is no prison with the right to hold him.— Tw_tterer (@TtererTw) December 7, 2018
And there is no right to life for those who would abrogate our rights, the rights of real humans. pic.twitter.com/Jubo6adQLp
James Fields was convicted today. Yet, the facts DO NOT support the trial's conclusion. When such perversion of the law can be conducted so blatantly, then life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness is in extreme danger. pic.twitter.com/0NAaSvvc3o— Billy Merse (@BillyMerse) December 7, 2018
America’s great until our justice system throws one of your buddies in prison for murder, right?
Thankfully, most of the responses from Twitter users to the news of this conviction are positive. Charlottesville activists are already marching in celebration and to promise that the fight won’t end until all white supremacists are either in prison or back in the sewers they crawled out of when Donald Trump was elected. We can all look forward to that day.
