Nazis Freaking Out After Neo-Nazi James Fields Convicted Of Murder Of Heather Heyer

As predicted by everyone who is not a Nazi, the neo-Nazi who rammed his vehicle into a crowd of anti-Nazi protesters and killed activist Heather Heyer has been found guilty of first-degree murder. His sentencing hearing will begin on Monday.

James Fields was found guilty on all criminal counts, including five counts of aggravated malicious wounding, three counts of malicious wounding and one hit and run count in addition to the murder charge. The self-identifying Nazi also faces charges of 30 federal hate crimes, which he’ll be tried for later. Regardless of how that goes, it’s a safe bet that Fields will spend the rest of his life in prison.

The defense argued that Fields became frightened when he somehow managed to get his car into the middle of a couple groups of counter-protesters to the “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville. They claimed he had “feared for his safety” when he rammed an entire group of people with his vehicle.

This argument, obviously, did not hold water. Prosecutors pointed to Fields’ angry social media postings and taped phone calls from jail in which Fields said that Heyer’s death “doesn’t matter” and called her a communist.

As non-Nazis everywhere breathe a sigh of relief and perhaps experience a bit of Schadenfreude, the aforementioned Nazis are not having a good day. They’re also falling all over themselves to make sure everyone on Twitter knows that they’re Nazis who defend murderers.

America’s great until our justice system throws one of your buddies in prison for murder, right?

Thankfully, most of the responses from Twitter users to the news of this conviction are positive. Charlottesville activists are already marching in celebration and to promise that the fight won’t end until all white supremacists are either in prison or back in the sewers they crawled out of when Donald Trump was elected. We can all look forward to that day.
