People Are Loving These Two Polar Opposite Sisters And Their Radically Different Homes

Sisters Jessica Toutant and Alexandria Bishop seem like they wouldn’t exactly run in the same social circles—to put it mildly. But now, the Detroit siblings have at least one thing in common: they’re both Twitter-famous due to a viral post.

On Thursday, Alexandria shared some images of herself and Jessica captioned, “My sister and I are polar opposites.” She added a rainbow and coffin emoji.

One image shows rainbow-tressed Jessica grinning widely, starkly contrasting with Alexandria’s dark hair and resting bitch face.

Alexandria also included photos of Jessica’s yard—which includes a rainbow-painted fence and a blow-up unicorn—and her own front porch, which features a an (un)welcome mat that says “Go Away” and a tiny tombstone door stop.

“Jessica and I have a pretty big age gap, so we naturally have been interested in different things,” Alexandria told Buzzfeed. “Our style only became drastically different when we became adults and started dressing how we truly wanted.”

Alexandria also said, “Jessica has always been the bright, bubbly, sun-worshipping one while I’ve always been the quiet, reserved one who hates the sun and loves to wear black.”

“Our home decorating and personal styles in general are both completely different.”

Alexandria is a self-taught makeup artist, and Jessica is also interested in the arts—she runs a henna business. Both work together at an adult foster home for the mentally ill. Maybe that’s why people were so taken with the story—two apparently dissimilar people still manage to have a functional relationship and enjoy each other’s company. In such a contentious cultural moment, stories of people getting along when they appear so different might make people feel hopeful.

For whatever reason, Alexandria’s post went viral, with 86k retweets and over 543k likes. The post also inspired a ton of hilarious comparisons:
