29 Photos Of The Australian Wildfires That Are Tough—But Necessary—To Look At

2020 has only just begun, but, unfortunately, already the world is facing a tragedy of epic proportions. Australia is burning—literally, as the country suffers one of the worst wildfires in history. Experts say that the wildfires have claimed 25 lives. And since they will likely continue to burn for months, many more lives will likely be lost. That’s in addition to the many animals that have been lost (that number hovers near a staggering half a billion). It can be hard to wrap your mind around the level of destruction and heartbreak that’s going on in Australia. But, these photos speak louder than words, so hopefully, they can help. If you’re looking for ways to help, donations can be made to the Red CrossSt Vincent de Paul Society, and the Trustee for NSW Rural Fire Service & Brigades Donations Fund.
