Daaaaamn Steve King, back at it again with the white noise.
Congressman Steve King of Iowa has been called a racist and a white nationalist for saying racist, white nationalist-y things like “we can’t restore our civilization with somebody else’s babies” and for literally supporting the concepts of white nationalism and white supremacy in public statements.
So naturally, now he’s comparing himself to Jesus Christ, implying at a recent event that the blowback he’s received for his fringe views has given him “insight” into what a guy who got nailed to a cross went through.
According to CNN King made the grandiose comparison while speaking at a town hall in Iowa, saying:
“For all that I’ve been through — and it seems even strange for me to say it — but I am at a certain peace, and it is because of a lot of prayers for me.”“And, when I have to step down to the floor of the House of Representatives, and look up at those 400-and-some accusers, you know we just passed through Easter and Christ’s passion, and I have better insight into what He went through for us partly because of that experience.”
What’s the opposite of “Amen”?

I think Steve King is confused. Jesus was NAILED to a cross, he didn’t burn them. pic.twitter.com/pIXeze0c2e

He’s just like Jesus if Jesus were the opposite of everything Jesus is supposed to be https://t.co/PIFJnvGK2X

Maybe he's just getting confused by the fact that whenever he talks, people just shake their heads and quietly say "Jesus." https://t.co/9nRA15bMgv
