Stephen King Takes On Donald Trump After Tweet About Asylum-Seekers

On Sunday, horror novelist and outspoken anti-Trumper Stephen King took on President Donald Trump’s claims about “illegal aliens” on Twitter.

Trump tweeted, “Full efforts are being made to stop the onslaught of illegal aliens from crossing our Souther [sic] Border. People have to apply for asylum in Mexico first, and if they fail to do that, the U.S. will turn them away. The courts are asking the U.S. to do things that are not doable.”

In response, King tweeted, “Jesus, man–you act like the Red Chinese army was invading. They’re just a bunch of scared and hungry people.”

The Associated Press reports that the group of migrants is now more than 5,000 people. Man of these people are just trying to escape the violence in their countries of origin in Central America. However, Trump makes them out to be a bloodthirsty mob who want to take over the United States.

This is not even close to the first time King has gone after Trump and his administration. King, who has been blocked on Twitter by Trump, tweeted last year that Trump was “unfit” to serve as president. In response to being blocked by Trump, King also tweeted that he wanted to block Trump from seeing his movies. I imagine he didn’t mention anything about Trump no longer being allowed to read King’s books because everybody knows Trump doesn’t actually read.
