Tomi Lahren Tweets And Deletes A Clearly Fake Right-Wing Meme Accusing Elizabeth Warren Of Racism

Republican slogan shouter Tomi Lahren loves negative attention. You can tell because she likes tweeting plainly ridiculous things to “trigger the libs,” like when she proudly stated that seeing asylum-seeking kids getting tear-gassed was “the HIGHLIGHT” of her Thanksgiving weekend.

You can also tell because she’s been pretty clear that “triggering the libs” is a thing she likes to do. Her 2017 Halloween costume was a confused star-spangled trainwreck designed to somehow offend liberals (and presumably not just our fashion sense).

The caption reads, “Oh LA get ready to find your safe spaces! What am I? Well if you’re a conservative, I’m American AF. If you’re a lib, I’m ‘offensive.’ Let’s go.”

BUT Tomi Lahren’s deep-seated need for negative attention took a backseat to an apparent desire to maintain some semblance of legitimacy (the fact that she has any is an indictment of Fox News and right-wing media, but that’s a post for another day) when she deleted a tweet accusing Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren of having a racist figurine in her kitchen.

Right Wing Watch

The screenshot was from an Instagram live video Warren posted from her kitchen, something that—like the Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez viral dancing video—right-wing trolls have tried and failed to mine for controversy.

If you take even a cursory glance at the object in question it’s pretty clear that it’s not a racist tchochke. If you happen to use your phone’s zoom feature it’ll remove any doubt from even the most delusional right-wing mind.

According to Right Wing Watch, the idea that Senator Elizabeth Warren—one of the most progressive elected officials in Congress—just has racist knick-knacks casually strewn about her kitchen seems to have originated on 4Chan and Reddit, which have become the fetid primordial sludge where right-wing attacks are born. Apparently Lahren’s been dipping her toe in that sludge or at least following people who swim in it.

As Mediaite reporter Caleb Ecarma (and others) pointed out, the incident says volumes more about Tomi Lahren and the rest of the right-wing scam artists than it does about Senator Warren.

Also, while controversy increasingly seems to be the fuel the political internet runs on, there is at least one positive piece of Tomi Lahren news. She tweeted to her avowed political enemy Kathy Griffin (who she also dressed up as for Halloween last year, in another very confusing costume) in support of her and her mother, who has dementia.

Griffin—who correctly identified Lahren as a “dumb, racist, talentless hack” in response to the Halloween stunt—thanked Lahren.

2019 has been weird so far, but I’ll take whatever humanity I can get.
