Pilkington had been traveling around, attending Trump rallies in various states, including Montana, Texas, Wisconsin and North Carolina, talking to the president’s supporters about their feelings for him. And those feelings were intense, to say the least.
Steve Spaeth, 40, lives in West Bend, Wisconsin, where he owns a home exteriors company. During an October 24 rally in Mosinee, WI, Spaeth told Pilkington that “hate” was actually “not at all” too strong a word to use when discussing the way he feels about anyone he considers an enemy, politically. He went on to say that he has “a deep and absolute disgust” for those people.
He listed a few of his enemies, who include the usual suspects: CNN, Cory Booker, George Soros, Hillary Clinton, and Elizabeth Warren, who he called—yup, you guessed it—Pocahontas. Of these enemies, Spaeth said, “They want to turn America into a socialistic country. It’s disgusting.”
It’s interesting to note that every one of those supposed enemies with the exception of Warren received a bomb in the mail the same week that Pilkington spoke to Spaeth. The bombs were allegedly sent by Cesar Sayoc, a 56-year-old rabid Trump supporter living in Florida.
When asked how far Spaeth would be willing to go, he told Pilkington that he’d shoot his own sister, who he identified as a liberal who votes Democratic. His exact words were, “If there is a civil war in this country and you were on the wrong side, I would have no problem shooting you in the face.” YIKES.
No way he was serious, right? Wrong. He was not exaggerating. He told the reporter, “I love my sister, we get on great. But she has to know how passionate I am about our president.”
