Twitter Makes Jokes After Trump Says ‘A Wheel Is Older Than A Wall’

Today, our very dumb president continued his quixotic quest to convince his supporters he’s doing everything possible to get their beloved border wall built. Trump traveled to Texas for some photo ops with border security personnel to try to retake control of the news cycle that’s spun wildly out of his control after he decided to cave to right-wing media pressure and shut down the government.

Because the audience for Trump’s public relations tour consists of the hooting morons who already agree with him, it’s not really moving the needle with Congress. House Democrats are still standing firm and refusing to waste billions of dollars on a wall we don’t need that won’t even work. (Still, it’s pretty funny to watch him try.)

Visiting the southern border today, Trump issued some remarks about why we “need” a wall which included a truly stupid tribute to “medieval” technology:

The best part is when he rehashes one of his trademark fake conversations, saying, “I looked and every single car out there, even the really expensive ones the Secret Service uses, and believe me they are expensive. I said, ‘Do they all have wheels?’ ‘Yes’ ‘Oh, I thought it was medieval.’” (And despite that truly mind-numbing bullsh*t there’s still people chuckling in the background.)

He also got roasted for it on Twitter, especially for claiming that wheels were older than walls:

Anyway, there’s no crisis at the border, the wall is a stupid idea, and all of this shutdown insanity has been brought to you by Fox News and racism.
