Legendary Viral Thread Uses Classic Art To Show What It’s *Really* Like To Be A Woman

Being a woman in a world that is still overwhelmingly dominated by men is exhausting. It would be funny if it weren’t so damn annoying. Actually, when presented the right way, it is funny, in that whole “laugh or else you’ll start to cry” way. It’s downright hilarious.

One writer on Twitter, Nicole Tersigni (@nicsigni), tweeted a super funny thread of pictures of classic art combined with the imagined conversation of the women in the pictures surrounded by men.

So many situations were represented in Tersigni’s thread: The line that men give when people ask them why they don’t have more women at their jobs…

The “I’ve had enough of men for the rest of my life and now I’m just going to be gay.”

The whole “smile more” thing.

Just so many situations.

Other women chimed in with pictures and jokes of their own.

Tersigni pointed out that guys had responded to her with the annoying “single cat owner” trope which is not the own so many men think it is, and to tell her that she was *not* a genius, AS IF that was something they knew.

One dude responded to the cat thing by writing, “I mean insinuating that you’re the type of person who thinks it’s perfectly normal to have a one sided conversation with an animal and also perfectly content with the fact that you have to regularly tend to a feces box is pretty insulting.”

No, dude. It’s not insulting. Not at all. Clearly this man has no idea what it means to own a pet, and honestly, that’s pretty sad for him.
