A zoo in Japan recently staged a safety drill so that its employees would know what to do in the even of a lion escaping. This involved strategies to recapture and contain the rogue animal with nets and other tools.
The only problem? You can’t stage a mock lion escape with a real lion.
So they got creative and used a human dressed in a lion outfit with big goofy cartoon eyes. The result hit the nexus of real and weird too perfectly for the internet to ignore.
I mean the whole scene just looks like a furry with backup dancers.
As for the real lions, they were distinctly unimpressed by the display.
The humans of the internet, however, were delighted.
